Data Deletion

Deleting from the app or the website

1. Sign in.
2. Open Settings → Delete account.
3. Confirm twice.

If you signed in a while ago, you will be asked to sign in once more first. The account is deleted at once, and this cannot be undone.

If you cannot get into your account

Write to [email protected], or choose "Account deletion request" in the Feedback form. Because the email typed into the form could be anyone's, a confirmation is first sent to the account's own email address. The deletion is done only after a reply from that address, within 30 days.

What is deleted

• your account and sign-in email
• all study data: progress, likes, notes, daily notes, bookmarks, streak, nay and device records
• your preferences and username
• your family membership and invitations (if you own a family pass, its members lose the pass they have through you)
• your feedback messages (their email copies in our support mailbox are deleted within 30 days)

Deleted data may remain in the automatic backups for up to 7 days, and is then removed on its own.

What remains

• Of your payment records, only the amount, the date and the PayPal transaction id are kept for up to 6 years, for accounting; your email and account id are removed from them.
• PayPal keeps its own transaction records separately; deleting your Nayestan account does not delete them.
• An active monthly donation is cancelled before the deletion.
• Nay and ranks you bought go with the account and cannot be restored.

Before deleting, if you like

Download a backup file from Settings.

On your devices

The device you delete from clears the account's local copy at once. On your other devices, a local copy stays until you clear the app's or the site's data there (it is no longer linked to any account and cannot write anything to the server).

Google or Facebook

Deleting your Nayestan account does not delete your account or data with those services; manage that in their own settings.
